Some Celtic fans have made it clear that they are not happy at all with reports which claim that their club has possibly stolen a march on young Bruno Davidson in January.

Fresh reports from the Daily Express (via The Scottish Sun) have stated that the Hoops have sealed their first signing of the month and that comes in the form of Hutchinson Vale youngster Bruno Davidson. The 15-year-old has also been linked with a move to Leicester City, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Southampton.

The report claims that Davidson will sign a three-year deal with the Hoops this week – once he turns 16. It is said that the youngster has been attracting attention from many English clubs and many scouts have already watched him in action.

Do Celtic need Bruno Davidson?

Why not, Lennon knows best!

But some Celtic fans are mocking the club for coming close to signing Davidson.

It is fair to say that the Hoops do have multiple young wingers who aren’t playing regularly and aren’t getting enough game time.

Karamoko Dembele is 16 and he should only rise up the pecking order slowly. He recently became the youngest player ever to play European football for the Hoops. In total, the youngster has made a total of two appearances for the Hoops first-team.

Marian Shved is also one. He came to the club from Ukraine in the winter of 2019 but has not featured too much in the first-team. This season, he has made only two first-team appearances, scoring once in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

Daniel Arzani is another such example. He has made just one appearance for the Hoops in all competitions and is also yet to play for the club this season. He has already made six appearances for the Australian national team.

What do we think?

Davidson is a completely different case, as compared to the likes of Shved, Arzani or Dembele. He is only 15 and his chance in the first-team will only come in four or five years. If many clubs are after him, Celtic getting him will never be a bad thing especially when he won’t cost a hefty fee.
