These Liverpool fans have been reacting to footage of their new signing Joe Hardy, who was formerly a forward for Brentford B.
Hardy has scored 40 goals in 80 matches for Brentford B, so it would seem likely that this signing is mainly for the Liverpool U23’s. Nevertheless, the 21-year-old will be hoping he can impress Jurgen Klopp during his time with the development side and maybe even earn a first-team spot.
Brentford’s official website announced the signing, stating the Hardy has signed for Liverpool for an “undisclosed fee“, however, the news was later relayed to these Red’s fans on Twitter via Anfield Edition.
Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about Hardy after the signing was relayed on Twitter:
Liverpool have signed striker Joe Hardy from Brentford B’s.
Hardy made his debut yesterday for the U23s against Manchester City.

Will Joe Hardy ever play for Liverpool's first team?
Yes!
Nope!
Hardy started his career at Manchester City but was later sold from their U18’s to Brentford B. It would seem many of the Liverpool faithful believe the 21-year-old could be a replacement for Rhian Brewster, as the young forward has been linked with a loan switch to Swansea City (The Times).
unreal baller. easily the best player i’ve ever seen play, always rated him https://t.co/lfsk3H0VfB

What Do We Think?
This seems like more of an academy signing than a first-team one, however, Hardy will be hoping he can impress the coaching staff at Anfield and maybe earn himself a first-team appearance or two. We think there’s no harm in making this signing, as it’s unlikely to have cost much and it’s just more backup in the academy.
