Some Celtic fans have made it clear that they are not happy with the number that the club has assigned to new signing Patryk Klimala.
The Hoops sealed the signature of the Poland Under-21s striker two days ago after Klimala had arrived to undergo his Celtic medical on Sunday evening in Glasgow. The fee for the striker has been reported to be £3.4 million by Scottish outlet STV.
Celtic fans: Are you happy with Klimala's number?
He doesn't deserve it
He needs time
The Hoops Twitter handle revealed yesterday that Klimala will wear the number 11 for Celtic and posted it on social media. Many Hoops fans made it clear that they aren’t happy with the decision.
One fan even stated that he could never lace Scott Sinclair’s boots, which relates to him being the previous owner of the number 11 shirt, prior to his move to Preston North End.
Could never lace Sinclairs boots

I’m underwhelmed, he probably won’t play a game this season. We needed a proven goal scorer. If Eddy gets injured 9 is gone and 10iar is gone. I’ll never forgive the board for that, considering how far in front of rangers we were. It’s criminal the way we’ve let them back in

Should’ve used the grey and pink kit for a laugh

The number 11 jersey belonged to Scott Sinclair until recently, but the Englishman recently departed Parkhead to join Preston in the Championship. Before leaving, Sinclair had made only eight appearances in all competitions for the Hoops and picked up a couple of goals too.
As for Klimala, he had been a regular for his club Jagiellonia Bialystok before arriving at Celtic. He had made 18 appearances in all competitions for them this season, finding the back of the net seven times and picking up three assists as well.
Last season wasn’t as impressive for him, in terms of numbers. He made 29 appearances in all competitions for the club. He could score only four goals and got one assist as well.
What do we think?
It is an overreaction from many fans to say that Klimala doesn’t deserve the number 11 jersey. He is yet to kick a ball and it is very early to judge whether he is good enough to take that jersey or not. While Sinclair’s impact at Parkhead was immense, Klimala deserves patience.
