Some Celtic fans have made sure that they are not interested in seeing Odsonne Edouard leave following recent links with Premier League side Leicester City in the January transfer window.

The Daily Record has claimed that Hoops’ former boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on bringing the Frenchman to the King Power Stadium this month, with the Foxes set to offer a £30million fee for the striker.

The report goes onto state that while Celtic have made it clear to Rodgers that they are not letting Edouard go this month, Leicester will be making a move in the summer anyway.

Celtic fans: Would you want Edouard to rejoin Rodgers?

TheCelticBible relayed the report on Twitter and some Hoops fans aren’t too pleased by the news.

Celtic had signed Edouard from French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2018 for a fee of £9million. That was a club-record fee for the Hoops and it still is a record.

In his first season at the club, Edouard was impressive under Rodgers, as Moussa Dembele left the club to join Lyon. Last season, he made 52 appearances in all competitions for the club and racked up a tally of 22 goals. He also got eight assists on the way.

This season has been an impressive one for the striker too. He has made 31 appearances in all competitions under Neil Lennon this season, scoring 16 times and picking up 15 assists on the way too. He has contributed to 20 goals in the Premiership already.

What do we think?

Edouard has done very well to replace Dembele and his numbers show that. He has become the club’s chief goal-getter and is a constantly reliably player for Lennon’s men. They can’t allow Edouard to leave this month, considering how the title challenge in the Premiership is getting stiff. Replacing a player of his influence this month can be very tough.
