Some Celtic fans have made it clear that they are very disappointed with the club’s announcement after Ryan Christie was confirmed to have been banned for two games.

During the Hoops’ 2-1 loss to their arch-rivals, Christie had apparently grabbed Alfredo Morelos ‘in the groin area’ and was set to face a ban after investigation. And last night, it was confirmed that the Scottish midfielder will now face a two-game ban for his actions in the Old Firm derby loss.

Celtic fans: Are you angry about the statement?

The Hoops’ twitter handle posted a statement about it. Celtic fans are neither too pleased by the decision nor are they too happy about their club’s statement about it. They expressed their discontent about it.

Christie has been a very important player for the Hoops this season, despite playing from midfield. The 24-year-old has witnessed a growth in stature for himself this season.

He has played 33 times in all competitions in the current campaign. He has picked up a total of 17 goals and also has 13 assists to his name so far. In the Premiership, he has played 17 games and has a tally of 10 goals and eight assists.

This is an improvement from last season when Christie had played 38 games in all competitions. He got a tally of 11 goals and nine assists during that time. In the league, he made 23 appearances and contributed to a total of 15 goals.

What do we think?

It is very harsh to expect the club to bash the SPA for their decision. The club can only make a statement and has to remain diplomatic in the statements that they decide to make. The abuse the post got is unfair and is hardly justified.
