Some Southampton fans have reacted to a sensational and viral tweet that the club posted on Twitter and it got many fans laughing.

The Saints’ Twitter account posted a video recording from them blocking certain words from their timeline. The two prominent words happened to be ‘9-0’ and ‘Welcome to Liverpool’.

They recently picked up a shocking 9-0 loss to Leicester City and Liverpool have earned this reputation of signing many former Saints players. The Reds have previously signed, amongst others, Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.

Southampton fans: Are you impressed by your social media team?

This tweet left many laughing in splits and many Saints fans are hailing the Twitter team for it.

Since that 9-0 loss to Leicester, Southampton’s form has bettered and they have climbed up the Premier League table. They are now five points clear of relegation and find themselves at the 12th spot in the division.

They are now unbeaten in their last four Premier League games. In this spell, they have beaten both Tottenham and Chelsea. They beat the Blues 2-0, beating Jose Mourinho’s Spurs 1-0 two weeks ago. They held Crystal Palace to a 1-1 draw, beating Aston Villa 3-1.

Before the loss to Leicester, they had won only two games. Before the current run, they also picked up wins over relegation strugglers Norwich City and Watford.

The club has scored 25 goals in the league this season, but it is Danny Ings who has scored over 50% of their goals and has found the back of the net 13 times.

What do we think?

Social media accounts can block ‘9-0’ from being viewed by them. But the side has to be proud of how they have recovered from that loss. Ralph Hasenhuttl has turned things around in some style and everyone involved in it deserves an immense amount of credit.
