Aston Villa fans have been drooling on Twitter over the latest transfer update surrounding Michy Batshuayi.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying information originally published by Foot Mercato that Villa “want to sign” Batshuayi from Chelsea in January “on loan with an option to buy.”

This post then got a lot of Villa fans replying with their thoughts on a potential move for the Belgian striker.

The 26-year-old, who is currently valued at £19.8 million according to TransferMarkt, has only made 12 Premier League appearances so far this season, scoring just one goal and picking up one assist (per TransferMarkt).
Despite not having the best start to the season, which can partly be put down to a lack of game time, lots of Villa fans are very excited by the prospect of the Belgian joining Villa Park this month.

What do we think?
Given the potential serious injury to first-choice striker Wesley in Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Burnley, it would make sense to secure a striker in January. Wesley’s absence could now open the door for Batshuayi to come in a get a consistent run of games under his belt as the second half of the season progresses.
