Aston Villa fans have been pleading on Twitter for the club to not sign Daniel Sturridge in the January transfer window.
This comes after Villa news Twitter account @AVFC_News shared a post on their official page claiming the former Liverpool striker has been “linked” with a move to Villa this month.
Should Villa sign Daniel Sturridge in January?
Yes, get him in
No, leave him
The post also contained an article from the Birmingham Mail who reveals that the Daily Mail have reported the interest from the club with Sturridge.
This post then gathered many replies from Villa fans who were not pleased with this latest link.

An injury prone striker to cover for our injured striker

He could replace Kodjia on the bench.

The Englishman is currently playing for Trabzonspor in Turkey after leaving Liverpool in August (per TransferMarkt). Despite scoring seven goals in 13 appearances in Turkey, some Villa fans still don’t want to see the striker return to England for Villa.
Nope, too greedy for DS

No thank you… spends more time out injured than on the pitch

That’s a massive gamble if true. A very gifted player but with an horrendous injury record. I can’t see this happening.

What do we think?
With first-choice striker Wesley out through injury, perhaps a move for Sturridge could soften the blow left by the Brazilian’s absence. But the fans will need more convincing he will be a success first.
After scoring 77 goals in 218 Premier League appearances (per TransferMarkt), Sturridge certainly has bags of top tier experience in him to help Villa with their season, but his injury record is a worry.
