Supporters of Wolverhampton Wanderers have discussed what should be done with the Steve Bull stand following a Twitter post from Tim Spiers.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Athletic reporter for the Old Gold posted to Twitter with an article on how to ‘solve a problem’ like the stand at Molineux (as per Tim Spiers), which sparked discussion.
How do you solve a problem like the Steve Bull stand?
It's 41 years old, horribly dated, it almost pushed the club into liquidation…and it's still causing problems now #WWFC https://t.co/2ahOJtsiJK

Knock it down and put up with 18 months disruption and possibly fans missing out on going. It’s the only way we can increase capacity, unless we start with south bank first.

I wonder if there is a way to knock down part of it, towards the NB, and start building the connection, while half of the old Steve Bull is still used… Only losing out on half of its capacity ????

Knock it down and build a larger more improved stand.

Should the Wolves hierarchy be seriously discussing leaving Molineux? No, would lose too much historyYes, it's the best way for us to grow |
As stated by Spiers, the stand is 41 years old and has been a thorn in the side of the midlands outfit since the time of its building (per The Athletic), which left many clear on their opinion.
While some fans felt that the best idea was to knock the stand down, others felt that the club should be looking to depart their home of 131 years (per The Stadium Guide) and a few just felt anger over the handling of the stand.
Love Fosun, but disappointed in their lack of action when it comes to ground redevelopment.
It feels wrong to criticise when they have done so much, but if we want to be a big club then a bigger ground is essential.— Paul Reid ? ? (@reidmail) January 29, 2020
It. Is there any problem having a completely new stadium purpose built for us. You have to move with the times and as much as Molineux has given us let’s move and start a new era. Rather than go through years of very costly changes for a mismatched stadium that has queuing issues

It begs the question why Morgan decided to demolish a perfectly good 20 year old stand and ignore what was already an outdated stand in 2012?

Just need a new stadium, the stadium is just bricks, the fans make molineux what it is,

What do we think?
While it is clear that there is definitely room for discussion amongst supporters, it does appear that there would be no outcome that would entirely appease every fan of the Old Gold.
While a brand-new, shiny stadium appeals to some, the history that would be lost by leaving Molineux would be huge and should certainly play a factor in any decision.
