Leicester City were dumped out of the Carabao Cup at the semi-final stage after Trezeguet’s late goal ensured Aston Villa’s passage through to the Wembley final.
The Foxes trailed for an hour before Kelechi Iheanacho’s equaliser and just when it seemed we were in for a penalty shootout, Dean Smith’s side grabbed a winner – breaking Foxes’ hearts.
Brendan Rodgers spoke to the media after the game, as reported by the club’s official website, but his comments haven’t gone down well with the Leicester supporters on Twitter.
Is Brendan Rodgers to blame for the Foxes' cup exit?
Yes
No
They didn’t want it, they won’t be hurting

Is that really Brendan or Claude Puel in a mask, haven’t seen that lack of passion since he left. There was a chance of getting into a cup final and sadly only one team wanted it. It pains me but well played Villa you showed us how a team fights for what it wants.

No passion, no desire, every time we reach a stage in the clubs advance to achieve, they give a half hearted performance?? Brendon no excuses this time , just disappointing for the city faithful, another stumble by players not performing!!

Disappointed? They didn’t even want a cup final. Under pressure but keep passing around the back, that’ll help. I miss the heart and desire from 2015/16

They need to, they have Chelsea on Saturday!

The players didn’t care at all

What do we think?
The Foxes have missed a golden opportunity to reach a major cup final and they only have themselves to blame. Their poor performances in both legs of this tie have been a cause for concern and although they still stand an excellent chance of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League, the fans will need some time to get over this one.
Leicester last won the league cup back in 2000 when they defeated Tranmere Rovers in the final and were in a great position to try and end a two-decade wait to try and reclaim the trophy.
