Supporters of West Ham United have fumed over an admission from Sam Allardyce on the transfer dealings of David Sullivan.
During an interview with talkSPORT, the former England gaffer admitted that Sullivan would sometimes give “the odd present” with a player that Sullivan liked turning up to training for the club (via West Ham News), which had fans furious.
Sam Allardyce on how transfers were conducted at West Ham when he was the club’s manager. The word shambolic comes to mind. pic.twitter.com/9uFeB2oGRg

@davidgold @jsullivanwhu You lot are having laugh ain’t ya ?????? This comment has come from one of our ex managers. You need to to pack your stall up and leave. Embarrassing.

@davidgold and @jsullivanwhu take a hint. You have failed the club now save your respect and sell the club to someone who can and wants to fulfill your promises.

Good to see the finger being pointed at Sullivan. Needs to back the managers and not get involved but ultimately he needs to sell up and leave.

Do West Ham United need different ownership if they are to progress in the Premier League?Yes, it's vital as we're heading nowhereNo, we can get there with the current pair |
The 65-year-old manager spent four years with the Hammers between 2011 and 2015, during which time he oversaw 181 games with a points per game tally of 1.39 (as per Transfermarkt).
With protests having taken place in recent weeks over the running of the London club (per Daily Mail), fans continued to fume over what Allardyce had to say on his time with the Hammers.
Get these useless owners out our club. It’s shambolic

These are former managers & players saying the same stuff. Whens it all going to end.

Sullivan needs to accept he is an owner and clearly not a qualified judge of a player?????

This is unbelievable, we know sully likes to do this but to then criticise the manager for lack of coaching? Shambles @DaveWalkerWHU @ExWHUemployee #boardout

What do we think?
If what Allardyce is admitting in the interview with talkSPORT is true, then that really is not the way to be running a football club.
In the modern-day of ‘head coaches’ over managers, it appears that owners are favouring a more hands-on approach when it comes to incoming players (as per BBC), which is yet to prove to garner much success.
