After Rangers lost to Hearts this weekend, many fans were frustrated with the performance. Of their 11 shots, Rangers only managed to hit the target twice. They also only managed to achieve 46% of the possession. It was clear how poor the team performed when looking at their player ratings. The two Rangers players with the highest rating, out of 10, were Ryan Kent and Allan McGregor. They only achieved a 4/10 from the BBC.
After the match, it became clear to fans that they needed to make some additions during the final week of the January transfer window. Many fans suggest that Lawrence Shankland would be the perfect signing for them. The £405,000 rated striker has scored 25 goals in 25 games for Dundee United this season. These fans think he would be the perfect backup for Alfredo Morelos.

Here’s a novel idea – we could play two strikers!
Amount of folk who think 2 strikers is enough for a team meant to challenge in 4 competitions over course of season is crazy.
Shankland would score for us, easily— Prso’s Ponytail (@GilmertonLoyal) January 26, 2020

Think I’d take in order
1 shankland
2 Waggy
3 promote from the youngsters— James Moore (@NOTELINYI) January 26, 2020
Need another striker for when Alfie is injured. Shankland would be a cheap option to provide cover.

Would Shankland be a smart signing for Gerrard?
No
Yes
What do we think?
If the club does manage to pick up Shankland for a reasonable price this January, he could be a hugely useful asset to Steven Gerrard. Scoring 25 goals in 25 appearances shows how clinical Shankland is for Dundee United.
