Spurs fans were delighted to hear that Jose Mourinho wants to sign a striker in the January window, with both he and the club keen on AC Milan forward Krzysztof Piatek.
According to the Guardian, which is mentioned in a Calcio Mercato article (via Daily Hotspur), Mourinho wants to bring the Polish striker to North London this month, following the injury suffered by Harry Kane in the New Year’s Day defeat by Southampton. With AC Milan signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer recently, an opportunity seems to have arisen for Spurs to sign Piatek, who may well lose his spot in the starting eleven to the Swedish striker.
Piatek signed for Milan from Genoa in January of last year and has gone on to make 39 appearances for the Rossoneri; scoring 15 goals in the process. The 24-year-old has struggled to find the net with as much consistency so far this season; with just four goals in 18 appearances; averaging a disappointing 6.5 rating.
Would Piatek be a good signing for Spurs?

He could flourish with Service from Alli Son and Moura

I’m happy with this. I’d take this and an RB over a DM and an RB

Looks a good finisher but not sure how good he’d be in the prem, would much rather Mitrovic…

These Spurs fans would clearly love to sign Piatek this month in the absence of Kane, although one fan admitted he would rather they sign Fulham man Aleksandar Mitrovic; whom the club have been linked with in recent days.
What do we think?
Piatek’s goal record with Genoa was extremely impressive and he started really well at AC Milan after joining in January last season. Spurs need a natural striker to replace Kane while he recovers from his hamstring tear and with the Polish international valued at £28.8 million, it wouldn’t be a hugely expensive transfer for the North London club.
