Spurs fans were over the moon to hear that Italian club AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing right-back Serge Aurier this month.
According to Alasdair Gold of Football.London (via Hotspur Related), the Italian giants are considering a bid for the Ivory Coast international during the January transfer window. Aurier has been Spurs’ first-choice right-back for much of the season, with back-up Kyle Walker-Peters heavily linked with a loan move to Crystal Palace, so if Aurier did depart it would leave Jose Mourinho with very few options in that position.
Aurier joined Spurs from PSG in 2017 and has gone on to make 62 appearances for the North London club, only emerging as a regular following the departure of Kieran Trippier in the summer. The 27-year-old has been in fine form so far this season; averaging a 7.28 rating, but it seems as if a lot of fans would be more than willing to let him go to AC Milan this month.

These Spurs fans would clearly love to see Aurier sold during this month’s window, despite the lack of options in his position.
What do we think?
Although Aurier has been poor at times, most notably against Bayern Munich in the 7-2 defeat back in October, he has been one of the most consistent players under Mourinho. It would be a surprise to see him sold to AC Milan this month, especially considering he has started nearly every game under the Portuguese manager.
