Spurs fans were less than happy to hear that Daniel Levy is attempting to negotiate a lower fee for Giovani Lo Celso in the January window.

According to iPaper Sport (via Ricky Sacks), Daniel Levy is stalling on the permanent transfer of the Argentine as he attempts to negotiate a lower fee. Despite Spurs and Real Betis agreeing on a deal for £32 million in the summer, the Spurs chairman has now reportedly decided he wants to pay less than £30 million.

Spurs signed Lo Celso in the summer on loan, with the option to buy him, or obligation to sign him should they make the top four. Despite him being signed by previous manager Mauricio Pochettino, it seems likely that Mourinho will sanction his signing in this month’s window after the 23-year-old’s recent performances.

Is Levy right to demand a lower price for Lo Celso?

These Spurs fans are clearly not impressed with Levy’s latest negotiating tactic and feel that if the club wants Lo Celso they should just pay the agreed amount.

What do we think?

Lo Celso hasn’t really settled in at Spurs thus far, having missed much of the early season with a hip injury suffered on international duty. He has averaged a disappointing 6.49 rating so it is a surprise that the club really still wants to sign him on a permanent deal.
