Spurs fans were less than impressed with Dele Alli’s performance in the 1-0 defeat against Liverpool on Saturday.
The 23-year-old midfielder was unable to influence the game against Jurgen Klopp’s side and picked up a disappointing 6.29 rating from whoscored. The England international had looked a different player since Jose Mourinho’s appointment in November; with an exceptional performance against Bournemouth perhaps the pick of the bunch but has struggled in recent games against Southampton and Norwich.
Alli signed for Spurs from MK Dons in 2015 and has gone on to make 206 appearances for the North London club; scoring 60 goals in the process. The midfielder missed much of the early season under Mauricio Pochettino thanks to injury but quickly looked back to his best in the first few weeks under Mourinho’s management, however, fans having quickly forgotten those performances after his latest poor display.
Should Dele Alli be dropped?

Dele Alli need to get off this game. I know Jose likes him and trying to get him back up but he’s been poor. Get Lamela in to cause more problems. #TOTLIV #COYS #THFC

Take Dele Alli off… he’s becoming a liability in this game #THFC #TOTLIV

#thfc Surely Alli main job today is to release the speedsters. But he’s carried the ball too far into the box when he should have played a reverse pass to his left, and then dwelt on it and lost it when there was a good chance to break. Needs to raise his game.

Alli loses the ball again and blames teammates for his mistake, what a joke #THFC

Can’t stand watching Dele Alli anymore, be bold and sell him

These Spurs fans were clearly not impressed with Alli’s performance against Liverpool and will be hoping for improved performances in the coming games.
What do we think?
Alli has had an impressive season overall; averaging a 7.06 rating in the Premier League but has struggled in recent weeks, with Spurs without a win since Boxing Day. If the £81 million rated man’s performances do not improve, then it would not be a surprise to see Mourinho drop the English international.
