Spurs fans were delighted to hear that club captain Hugo Lloris is expected to return to first-team training in the next 10 days.
According to Mail Sport (via Ricky Sacks), the Frenchman is expected to be back in first-team training in the next 10 days and is aiming for a return to action by the end of January. The 33-year-old has been out since injuring his elbow in the 3-0 defeat by Brighton in October, with Paulo Gazzaniga standing in for the World Cup winner ever since.
Lloris’ return represents a big boost for Jose Mourinho’s side; who are without a clean sheet since their 5-0 win over Burnley early in December. The Spurs number one has played in just nine games for Spurs this season; with his injury having now kept him out for an extended period, but his experience at both club and international level suggests that he may well regain his spot in the starting eleven when he returns to full fitness.
Will Lloris regain his spot in the starting eleven?
Yes
No

Forget the defending that has been under heavy criticism, I do like Gazzinga but he is no Hugo.
Some of the goals have been poor defending but Hugo would have stopped a lot also#COYS

Bloke is way above gazzaniga in terms of quality, imo he was fortunate to even come to spurs, can’t wait for lloris to return

These Spurs fans are clearly delighted that Lloris is nearly back in training and will be hoping to see him back in the first team in the near future.
What do we think?
Whilst Gazzaniga has proved himself an effective back-up with his performances over the last few months, Lloris is club captain and will bring a lot of experience to the Spurs team when he returns between the sticks.
