Spurs fans have been highly critical of chairman Daniel Levy after statistics were released which revealed that Spurs are the richest club in London.
Daily Hotspur and Ricky Sacks both posted the statistic from Deloitte Football Money league on Twitter, which shows Spurs as the highest-earning London club and eighth highest in the world with an annual revenue of £459.3m for the year of 2018-19. This has caused a lot of controversy amongst Spurs fans, who are hoping to see some of that revenue being spent on new players during the January transfer window.
Daniel Levy spent relatively big in the summer, bringing in Tanguy Ndombele for a club-record deal, as well as Ryan Sessegnon and Jack Clarke from Fulham and Leeds respectively. However, the money spent has not yet replicated results on the pitch, with Mauricio Pochettino sacked in November after a dreadful start to the season and while Jose Mourinho has steadied the ship somewhat, Spurs still look some way off finishing in the top-four this season.
Will Spurs spend big next summer?
Yes

Yet still we won’t invest in the squad.

Its quite incredible that we cant invest in a squad. January and the summer will be telling.

These Spurs fans are clearly baffled as to why the club haven’t re-invested more of that money in the squad and will be hoping to see some more signings this month.
What do we think?
Spurs did spend big in the summer but failed to move on some big wages such as Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose, which has perhaps prevented Levy from re-shaping the squad. Although it may not happen this month, you suspect that a big re-build of the Spurs squad is coming.
