Spurs fans were surprised to hear that Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Christian Eriksen this month.
According to Sky Sports (via Daily Hotspur), the Catalan club have enquired about signing the 27-year-old, despite him being on the brink of a move to Inter. While Spurs and Inter are yet to have agreed on a fee for the midfielder, Eriksen has agreed personal terms with Antonio Conte’s side and a deal is reportedly close (via Sky in Italy).
However, it seems as if Quique Setien’s side are making a last gasp attempt to bring the former Ajax man to La Liga this month, as they look to secure another domestic title. If a deal for the 27-year-old cannot be completed this month, then it looks likely that he will leave the North London club at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Who do you think Eriksen will join?
Barcelona
Inter
Reaction from Spurs fans to Barcelona’s reported interest in Eriksen can be seen in the tweets below.
One fan even suggested that Daniel Levy will be loving Barcelona’s reported enquiry, and it’s obvious as to why as the Catalan side could potentially produce a bigger offer for him or maybe even spark a bidding war with Inter Milan.
Levy will be loving this

Would love to see the price driven up, but Levy will muck it up and he’ll go on a free. Take the money from Inter.

These Spurs fans are clearly split by the latest Eriksen rumour, with some hoping to see him leave as soon as possible and hoping that Barcelona’s interest will drive his price up, whilst some suspect that it is a fake rumour spread by Daniel Levy to encourage Inter to meet the asking price.
What do we think?
Barcelona’s interest has come from nowhere and with Eriksen having already agreed terms with Inter it seems unlikely that they will be able to secure his signing. It will be interesting to see whether this does result in the Italian side increasing their offer, or whether it backfires and sees Eriksen stay with Spurs until the end of the season.
