Spurs fans were less than impressed with Heung-Min Son’s performance against Manchester City on Sunday, despite the South Korean scoring the second goal in their 2-0 win.

Fans were very critical of the 27-year-old’s first-half display, especially after Alasdair Gold tweeted his own thoughts on the former Bayer Leverkusen man’s performance. The Football.London journalist said: “not that any of the attackers have impressed for Spurs, but Son is having a shocker by his high standards. Really struggling out there.” Shortly after however, Son controlled Tanguy Ndombele’s pass and fired past Ederson to secure the three points for Jose Mourinho’s side.

His goal seems to have papered over what was a poor performance from the South Korean international; who earned a 7.51 rating from whoscored. It was Son’s third goal in as many games and fans will be hoping that it boosts his confidence, with performances arguably not up to his usual standard in recent weeks.

Reaction from Spurs fans to Gold’s tweet on Son and his performance against Manchester City can be seen in the tweets below.

These Spurs fans clearly feel that Son had a poor game against Manchester City and hasn’t been at his best for a few weeks.

What do we think?

Although his overall performances may not have been up to scratch, the £72 million rated man has three goals in three games and has averaged an impressive 7.33 rating in all competitions this season, so perhaps he is not as inconsistent as many Spurs fans are suggesting.
