Spurs fans were treated to a video of former academy product Tom Carroll scoring against Norwich City ahead of Spurs’ game against Daniel Farke’s side on Wednesday.

The club tweeted out a video of Carroll’s goal against the Canaries during a 3-0 win in the 2016/16 Premier League season. The 27-year-old is now plying his trade with Swansea in the Championship and has made 103 appearances for them since signing from Spurs in 2017.

The former England Under-21 international will certainly not go down as a legend for his performances at Spurs; with the goal against Norwich being one of just three goals he notched in 56 appearances for the North London club.

Although he is not setting the world alight with Swansea this season; averaging a 6.13 rating from eight appearances, some Spurs fans jokingly suggested that they should sign him back during this transfer window.

Was Tom Carroll ever good enough to play for Spurs?

These Spurs fans were probably joking when they suggested that the club should re-sign Carroll, with the 27-year-old far from good enough to make it in the Spurs side.

What do we think?

Carroll’s goal was a good one but it was some time ago and with him currently struggling to get into the Swansea side, any chance of him returning to Spurs seems slim.
