Spurs fans have been reacting to some of Danny Rose’s quotes on Twitter after the left-back joined Newcastle United on loan.
The 29-year-old joined Steve Bruce’s side on Thursday and spoke to his new club about how he ended up joining the Magpies, saying: “I was watching Newcastle play Chelsea and unfortunately Jetro got injured. Afterwards I heard the commentator say we’re going to need a left-sided player. Straight away I called my agent and said I want to go.” per NUFC TV (via Daily Hotspur).
Rose had struggled for game time at Spurs this season; making just 16 appearances in all competitions, the majority of which came under previous manager Mauricio Pochettino. The England international makes the move to Newcastle despite promising fans that he was “going nowhere” in an interview last season, suggesting that his lack of playing time led to a change of heart.

Let’s be honest Danny, you’ve been on the decline since 2017, your not good enough and have a bad attitude, water always finds it’s level and Newcastle is your level

Not sure people see that the guy has serious problems. Not long ago he’s telling everyone that he’s not leaving until his 18 months are up..

These Spurs fans clearly aren’t happy with Rose’s comments on leaving the club, with some hoping that he won’t return to the North London club.
What do we think?
It is good that Rose, who is valued at £18 million (as per Transfermarkt), will start to get regular football again, following the injury suffered by Newcastle’s Jetro Willems and if he does return to Spurs, hopefully he will return a player in form.
