These Newcastle United fans were glad to hear that the rumoured Glenn Murray deal now looks unlikely.
The Chronicle has reported that: “Murray was linked with a six-month move to United but sources on Tyneside have dismissed the prospect.” This was later relayed to these Newcastle United fans on Twitter thanks to Lee Ryder.
Murray is 36-years-old and is yet to score in the Premier League this season, but has played 13 league matches for his current club Brighton.
Here’s what the Newcastle fans had to say about the Murray news on Twitter:
Newcastle have not made any approach for Glenn Murray. #nufc

We deserve to be relegated just for being linked with players like him

Would you like to see Glenn Murray join Newcastle United?
Yes
No
The 36-year-old’s only goal this season came when playing for Brighton in the EFL Cup, scoring once in his one appearance in the competition.

What Do We Think?
If Newcastle United signed a 36-year-old striker, it’s hardly sending the best message to the fans, with Glenn Murray’s best days definitely behind him; failing to score in the league and only scoring in the EFL Cup is hardly the type of form that should earn you a move away. If we were in control of the Magpies, then we would definitely avoid this transfer.
