These Newcastle United fans discuss the latest Hakan Calhanoglu rumours coming from Twitter.
According to Louis Girardi via NUFC 360, Newcastle have submitted an offer for AC Milan’s Calhanoglu.
So far this season, Calhanoglu has played 18 matches in the Italian Serie A, however, the 25-year-old has only scored twice and assisted just once. The Turkish international has also picked up five yellow cards, which could be a little concerning (Transfermarkt).
Here are some of the comments from the Newcastle fans on Twitter:
#NUFC have submitted an offer for Hakan Calhanoglu. He's played majority of his games as LW this season, but is also adept at CM. Currently out with a calf injury. https://t.co/NAy5XgzmEV

He’s not coming lol. But I’m sure if he did the fans would complain that he’s keeping the Longstaff brothers out

Would you like to see Calhanoglu at Newcastle United?
Yes
No
Calhanoglu joined AC Milan for £20.97m in July 2017 and currently has a Transfermarkt value of £16.20m and it seems one fan in particular believes he could be a great player from set-pieces, with WhoScored backing up that notion by suggesting it is a strength of his game.
He’s a good player seen him over the years play in Germany etc great from set pieces

The Milan fans actually hate him

What do we think?
With Hakan Calhanoglu somewhat underperforming at AC Milan with a season rating of 6.94, this transfer move could be a little bit of a gamble. If the transfer fee is low, then we see no reason in not taking a punt, however, if Calhanoglu’s fee is anywhere near what Milan paid for him, then we would stay well away.
