Phil Hay has claimed that Leeds United are monitoring Emil Bohinen as they look to add options to their squad.

The Athletic reporter would not go any further than “Leeds are looking at him.”

Is Bohinen someone who Leeds should go for?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Bohinen was linked to the Whites earlier than in the week, and now Hay has confirmed that link.

Why do Leeds want him?

The 20-year-old can play as a winger or in central midfield and is the son of former Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers man Lars Bohinen.

Last season he made 29 appearances for Stabaek in the Norwegian top-flight and managed to score four goals and provide six assists – with three goals and three assists coming from the wing and the rest from central midfield.

Bohinen, who is valued at £540k by Transfermarkt, has been capped for Norway at all levels apart from the senior side.

The 20-year-old had a trial at Bramall Lane last month, so if the Whites do want to sign him, they might face competition for his signature.

How likely is that Leeds will sign him?

The Whites look to be closing in on Ian Poveda, and he can play on either wing – so would they really sign Bohinen in the same window as Poveda?

The 19-year-old appears to have chosen a move to Elland Road and is expected to go straight into Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team squad.

Bohinen might be one to keep an eye on, but at the moment, Leeds are focusing more on Poveda.

Then attention must turn to sealing a deal for a striker.
