A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to claims that Krzysztof Piatek could be heading to Tottenham Hotspur instead of Newcastle – after it was revealed that AC Milan and Spurs are in talks for the Polish striker.
This comes after it was revealed that Harry Kane would be out until April with a hamstring injury – leaving Tottenham with no first-team striker.
Was Piatek ever a realistic target for Newcastle?
Yes
No
Newcastle were linked with Piatek earlier in the week, but it seems that Spurs could beat them to the 24-year-old’s signature.
This has not surprised many Newcastle fans.

What do we think?
Piatek, who is valued at £28.8m by Transfermarkt, has scored 15 goals in 39 games for AC.
However, Tottenham’s interest now means that it is much more likely that he will end up in London rather than on Tyneside.
A move to Spurs would allow Piatek to play Champions League football and play under Jose Mourinho.
Newcastle need to move on from on this and think about getting the striker they desperately need.
