Spurs fans were not overly happy to hear that Danny Rose has returned to first-team training this week.

The club announced on Twitter that the left-back was back in training following a calf injury, although it seems as if a lot of fans aren’t too excited to see him back. The 29-year-old has struggled to find form so far this season; averaging a disappointing 6.55 rating across 20 appearances for club and country.

Rose is a product of the youth academy at Spurs and has gone on to make 213 appearances for the club since making his league debut against Arsenal in 2010; an occasion he marked with a wonderful goal. However, the England international has lost favour with a lot of fans after he revealed that he intends to run down his contract with the club in an interview with the Guardian in November 2019.

Should Danny Rose start ahead of Sessegnon at left-back?

Reaction from Spurs fans to the update on Rose’s fitness can be seen in the tweets below.

These Spurs fans are clearly not overjoyed to see Rose is back in full training, with many suggesting that the club should just release the 29-year-old.

What do we think?

Although Rose, who is valued at £18 million (Transfermarkt), has not been in the best form so far this season; his return to fitness will surely be a boost for Jose Mourinho, especially with fellow left-back Ben Davies still out injured.
