A lot of Newcastle United fans responded to Ayoze Perez’s post after he scored and assisted on his return to St James’ Park.
In his last season for Newcastle, Perez developed a new celebration of putting his fingers in his ears.
Was Perez right to celebrate?
Yes, some Newcastle fans were booing him
No, he should have showed more respect
So, when he slotted past Martin Dubravka at the Gallowgate End, the Spaniard celebrated.
This received a mixed reaction on Twitter from a lot of Newcastle supporters.
Some were furious that Perez had dared to celebrate.
The best way to start 2?0?2?0?! Win, goal and assist! ????? It was good to see old good friends ? pic.twitter.com/rcVH0z1ecd

I can understand and why you were pleased to score, and why you left. But if it wasn’t for #NUFC you would still be playing in that Spanish second tier. So show some respect for the team that made you what you are.

What do we think?
The 26-year-old, who is valued at £27m by Transfermarkt, spent five seasons on Tyneside and went down to the Championship with them in just his third season, but as soon as Rafael Benitez departed, he couldn’t resist a move to Leicester City.
Since then, he has scored five goals and provided four assists as the Foxes continue their charge towards Champions League football.
Perez was treated pretty poorly by some Newcastle fans when he was on Tyneside – that is why he came up with the celebration.
So, it was no surprise to see him celebrate his goal.
Perez was a good player for Newcastle, and some of their fans should have more respect for him.
