A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to Keith Downie’s update on Christian Atsu with the Sky Sports reporter stating that Celtic have tried and failed to take the winger.
Newcastle released Ki Sung-yeung earlier in the day and were looking to get rid of Atsu.
Has Atsu made the right decision?
Yes
No
However, they have turned down a bid from Blackburn Rovers for the 27-year-old, and now the Bhoys’ bid has also failed, and many Toon fans are not happy about this news.
An unsuccessful approach. Atsu has decided to stay at Newcastle and fight for his place ?? https://t.co/B3lZWb0V3s

Place that’s never been his in three and a half years. Fighting a losing battle and staving off the inevitable.

What do we think?
Newcastle wanted to get rid of Atsu, who has made 18 appearances this season, but only five have been starts.
Atsu, who is valued at £5.4m by Transfermarkt, has made 118 appearances for Newcastle and only managed eight goals and nine assists.
Celtic, though have failed in their bid to take Atsu and he will remain a Newcastle player – which will probably irritate many of their fans.
This probably also means that the Toon will not be able to make a late move for Jarrod Bowen.
