Manchester City are reportedly keeping tabs on Norwich City star Todd Cantwell. According to a report in the Daily Mail, the 21-year-old’s performances have caught the attention of both Manchester clubs and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Canaries are struggling at the bottom of the Premier League table but despite their troubles, Cantwell has repeatedly stood out and continues to make a name for himself.

The Englishman scored his sixth goal of the season versus Crystal Palace on New Years Day as Daniel Farke’s side were held to a draw by Roy Hodgson’s side.

Only Teemu Pukki has scored more goals for Norwich this season and according to Transfermarkt.co.uk the attacking-midfielder is valued at £13.5m – however, it’s understood the club would be looking for something in the region of £30m to allow the player to leave.

Cantwell’s current contract has until June 2022 to run but with relegation looking likely, if the price is right we could see Norwich cash in on their starlet.

TIF Tactics – Is there a place for Cantwell at City?

Manchester City are blessed with plenty of talent in the attacking-midfield area’s, and with the likes of Phil Foden already at the club, it’s difficult to see where Cantwell would fit in when it comes down to Pep Guardiola’s first-team plans.

You can never have enough top-quality players but for City to make their move you would think somebody in addition to David Silva would need to move on from the Etihad – with the Spaniard set to leave at the end of the season.

With some of the club’s biggest rivals in the mix to sign Cantwell, the Champions will likely be keeping a close eye on the situation – ready to make their move if they see fit.
