These Liverpool fans would love to see Leicester City star James Maddison join the club this January.

Maddison is having an outstanding season in the Premier League so far, scoring six goals and assisting his teammates on three occasions in the 20 appearances the 23-year-old has made. The midfielder has a Transfermarkt value of £54m, making him one potentially expensive fan request should his actual valuation be anywhere near that amount.

Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about Maddison when asked if they would like to see him join on Twitter:

Maddison was born in Coventry and started his career at Coventry City, before joining Norwich for £2.39m which looks like a bargain now. However, Norwich later sold the 23-year-old to his current club Leicester City for a massive £22.5m, smart business from the Canaries.

One fan suggested that he felt the England international playmaker would thrive under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp, hinting that the German could be the perfect manager for him to further develop.

What Do We Think?

With Maddison staring 90% of Leicester City’s Premier League games so far this season, that goes to show that he’s more than comfortable at this high level of football. It’s likely if he does ever move, it’ll only be to one of the top European clubs, as this season Maddison has contributed to 19% of Leicester’s goals.

Liverpool could benefit hugely by having a player of the 23-year-old’s ability in the middle of the park as the Resd have been accused of lacking the qualities he arguably has – although Trent Alexander-Arnold appears to have taken on that role from right-back. With his current goals and assists tally of nine combined, Maddison could become a great attacking-midfielder for the Merseyside club.
