These Liverpool fans have reacted to the news that Jonathan Moss has been appointed as the referee for the FA Cup clash against Everton.
In the 17 times Moss has refereed Liverpool matches, the Merseyside club have won just 52.9% of the time and have averaged just 1.82 points per game.
However, the Anfield outfit have a pretty decent record against Everton in the last six meetings between the Merseyside clubs. Over the last six matches, Jurgen Klopp’s side are yet to lose against the Toffees, winning and drawing three times and also managing to score nine times.
Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about the referee appointment, as the news was relayed on Twitter by Ged Rea:
The referee for @LFC v Everton in the F.A. Cup is Jon Moss. It will be his first derby in charge.

Does this appointment mean Liverpool will lose against Everton?
Yes
No
The last time Liverpool faced Everton it was an easy victory for the Anfield side, winning 5-2 in the Premier League on 4th December 2019. However, it seems many are not too convinced with the appointment of Moss.

This is why VAR remains a necessary evil. The Premier League has some of the worst referees in the world. https://t.co/54sVEqL8iJ

What Do We Think?
A referee should never be the deciding factor in a professional football match, but with Liverpool winning just over half the matches Jonathan Moss has taken charge of, their chances don’t look too great right now, which may make the view of the fans above a little more justified.
However, with their strong recent form against Everton, winning three and drawing three in the last six meetings, Klopp’s side should go into the cup fixture full of confidence and with the belief of progressing into the next round.
