These Liverpool fans aren’t keen on seeing Georginio Wijnaldum leave Anfield with the Dutch midfielder’s contract expiring on 30th June 2021.
So far this season, Wijnaldum has played 43 matches, scored 14 goals and has zero assists for club and country. 19 of these outings were for Liverpool in the Premier League, a competition that has seen the Dutch midfielder keep a WhoScored average rating of 6.89/10 across these appearances.
With Wijnaldum’s contract set to expire on 30th June 2021, these Reds fans are keen to keep hold of their goalscoring midfielder. Especially after the recent news that surfaced, which stated that he could leave Anfield at the end of the current campaign (as per David Ornstein of the Athletic).
Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about Georginio Wijnaldum’s contract situation on Twitter after reacting to a post he uploaded:

Announce contract extension.

Would you like to see Wijnaldum leave Liverpool?
No!
Yes!
Wijnaldum originally joined Liverpool from Newcastle United for a fee of £24.75m, so if the 29-year-old’s contract was to expire that would be a big loss, both on the pitch and financially.
Sign the thing gini

What Do We Think?
For Jurgen Klopp to start Georginio Wijnaldum in 95% of Liverpool’s Premier League matches, the German manager is surely keen to keep hold of the Dutch midfielder. Scoring two goals in 19 league games are hardly record-breaking stats, but from a midfielder, it’s definitely a bonus to have a slight goalscoring edge to your game.
The fans are certainly hoping that the Reds can find a way to get this deal done and we would also like to see Wijnaldum, who is valued at £45 million (Transfermarkt), stay at Liverpool for the foreseeable future.
