Phillip Cocu has found life difficult in the Championship so far. His Derby County side currently sit in 16th place and have won just nine of their 29 fixtures so far this season. Their latest defeat came at Kenilworth Road courtesy of the divisions bottom club Luton Town.
As a result of the Ram’s poor form, sections of the Derby fanbase are beginning to question whether or not the 49-year-old is the right man to take the club forward and get them challenging for a spot in the play-offs in the not too distant future. These fans certainly don’t think so.
Is Cocu the right man to take Derby forwards?
Yes
No
Rather have Ole than Cocu, that’s how bad he is. Clueless.

Time for Cocu to go! I’ve not been one of those calling for his head up to now, but enough is enough. We’re absolutely abysmal this season.

So we play one up front against shocking team with defence and we get humiliated AGAIN . Cocu really clueless , but we can’t defend and have no creativity . This is the worse derby team for at least last 10 years

If Cocu can watch that performance and still decide not to start Marriott and Martin together against Stoke, then I’ll struggle to keep defending him… #dcfc

I really like Cocu but the tactics, team selection and away negativity is infuriating, then seems to chuck players on with 10 to go to chase a result. He is in a tough job but he isn’t helping himself at times

Dreadful again . Awful season. I worry about us under Cocu .

What do we think?
Phillip Cocu is a highly-decorated coach, as he led PSV Eindhoven to three Eredivisie titles and a Dutch cup during his time in the dugout at the Philips Stadion. However, at Pride Park, he has a very different task on his hands and it’s fair to question his suitability to the role, particularly if he’s not going to get sufficient backing in the transfer market.
Having lost Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori and Harry Wilson when their loan spells came to an end in the summer, this was always going to be a far more challenging season for the Rams. But the question remains, under Cocu are they travelling in the right direction? Fans certainly appear to be wondering whether he is or not.
