Aston Villa fans have been responding on Twitter to the latest reported transfer update surrounding Christian Benteke.
This comes after Villa news Twitter account @AVFC_News shared a post on their official page relaying a report made by The Sun that Crystal Palace will “allow” the striker to leave on loan this month, with Villa mentioned as a possibility.
Would a loan move for Benteke be a good move from Villa?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who want to see Benteke return to their club at some point this month.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans calling for Benteke to return to Villa Park this month after the loan news emerged.

The Belgian has been linked with a move back to Villa Park prior to the latest report, as a possible replacement for the injured Wesley. During his time at the Birmingham club, Benteke scored 49 goals in 101 appearances (per TransferMarkt),
Now that the latest update has emerged that Palace would allow the Belgian to leave on a loan deal this month, this has caused some Villa fans to push their club to bring Benteke back to Villa Park.
Premiership experience ,has been in a relegation battle before , has proven he can score goals, knows the club…BRING HIM HOME @AVFCOfficial @chrisbenteke

We need a striker, Benteke is Premiership proven, he is Aston Villa proven. Would love to see him come back – and I think he would love to come back and help us too.

Come on @AVFCOfficial just the player to replace Wesley.

The biggest no brainier I’ve ever seen
— nick (@headmond81) January 14, 2020
That makes it much more appealing – I’d rather this than the Arsenal lad who couldn’t get into the Leeds team.
Let him try to get some form, get into the euros and then he can have his big money move to China in the summer. Works for everyone.

What do we think?
Of course, getting someone like Christian Benteke in on loan would make perfect sense, as it shouldn’t cost too much money and they won’t be forced into having him permanently if things don’t work out.
