While the Rangers first-team are playing exceptionally well, the academy squads are also performing brilliantly. This has excited fans who know that, while the present is good, the future could be even better. One of the youth players on the first-team’s radar is right-back, Nathan Patterson.
This week reliable Rangers account Four Lads had a Dream revealed in a tweet that the Bluenoses believe Patterson is capable of pushing for a first team place.
Fans went on to discuss the youngster, with one supporter believing this is why the club hasn’t turned to the transfer market to purchase a full-back.
Both full backs in the youth team impressed massively in the European games they have played. Next step for them both will surely be loans to continue their progression into competitive mens football. Glad to see the club rewarding them for their performances

Potentially why we haven’t invested in another right back ?

Is Nathan Patterson good enough to play with the first-team yet?
Yes
No
Another fan thinks that winning the league will provide the club with the perfect platform to integrate younger talent into the first-team setup. However, one fan warns the club not to wait too long before giving the player a chance.
I hope this doesn’t sound negative, but for me, one of the biggest things I’m going to love about winning the title is the fact we can potentially blood our youngsters in an easier way the following season
If we do it this year, the timing would be perfect.

Need to start giving these young lads a chance even if its league cup or scottish cup otherwise we will lose our best talent

What do we think?
Should Rangers continue to bring talented youth through their academy, it will be a massive boost to their future title challenges. Patterson is a prime example of what the club hopes to achieve with its youth setup. It could only be a matter of time before we see Patterson feature in a match for Steven Gerrard’s senior squad.
