Some Celtic fans have expressed their lack of satisfaction for how the side played in the first-half in their recent win over Hearts in the Premiership recently (BBC).

Neil Lennon’s men kept their unbeaten run going in the Premiership and the last time they lost a game was away to Livingston two months ago. The win saw Ryan Christie score and Olivier Ntcham also found the back of the net.

The Hoops increased their lead at the top of the Premiership to as many as five points. Rangers have a game in hand but don’t play until Friday, when they travel to Hibernian.

Celtic fans: Were you happy with the first-half performance v Hearts?

Not at all, it was sloppy

Who cares now anyway!

Despite the win, some Celtic fans weren’t happy with the first-half performance from the side.

The Hoops have not lost a single league game in over two months and while they did lose to Livi back in October, they have already avenged that loss in late November. But they did lose to CFR Cluj in the UEFA Europa League last Thursday, meaning that they couldn’t finish their group stage campaign on an unbeaten note.

Despite that, the Hoops finished top of their Europa League group. It is the first time that they’ve done that, beating Lazio twice in the round and beating Rennes twice too. They face Copenhagen in the next round.

In the Premiership, the Hoops have had the best defensive record in the league. They have let in only nine goals in the competition– only one less than Rangers. They also have the best-attacking record in the Premiership, scoring 50 goals in total.

What do we think?

The Hoops did win the game and the condition of the pitch had an effect on how they played against Hearts. In the end, it is the result that matters. For where they are in the table, fans should not panic.
