It was a team effort when Rangers tied Young Boys to progress in the UEFA Europa League. A tie guaranteed the team’s progression into the next round of the competition, but with Porto beating Feyenoord, they only went through second in their group (UEFA).
Many players had a large part to play in the victory, including Alfredo Morelos, who scored the game’s opening goal. But when fans were asked who their Man of the Match was, they almost unanimously agreed on Borna Barisic. The Croatian played incredibly during the match and has improved greatly so far this season. His crossing during the game was on point.
Borna. What a machine.

Would you have picked Barisic as your Man of the Match against Young Boys?
Yes
No
His game was so good that the fans were willing to forgive him for scoring an own goal in the dying embers of the match. Had the own goal not gone in, Rangers would have finished at the top of their group.
Barisic was outstanding, very unlucky with the OG

Barisic. Scores an OG but still an absolute colossus.

What do we think?
It is great to see that Morelos isn’t the only player in a Rangers top getting tons of praise from fans. Barisic’s influence on the game was vital. Had his teammates been a little more clinical with the chances he created from wide areas, then perhaps they would have won the game regardless of his own goal.
