With there being less than a week until the January transfer window is officially open, Rangers fans are trying to decipher fact from fiction. There have been plenty of speculation as to who Steven Gerrard could be targeting to upgrade his squad.
After the news of Olivier Giroud’s potential transfer (as per L’Equipe) to Rangers began circulating on Twitter, despite Gerrard denying the interest, fans were quick to debate their interest in the World Cup winner. Many fans didn’t think Giroud to Rangers could happen. They think the who idea is laughable.

Others would love to see him join the club. They think he would be a welcome addition, especially with his aerial dominance.
Mental to see we are linked with Giroud but I’ve actually seen people say he would be a poor signing . It wont happen but if it does that would be a great coup.

He would score goals in this league, I wouldn’t doubt that. The amount of crosses we through into the box could be better exploited with an actual striker who is over 6 ft. Still cant see it happen, but I would have said the same about Defoe.

Not the greatest striker but he puts in a powerful shift each game. Very good team player. Can get goals when least expected. Used to admire him when he played for @Arsenal If he joined us at #Ibrox I would welcome him.

What do we think?
If Giroud did make his move to Glasgow, Rangers fans would be getting a brilliant player. Whether he would be able to perform at the same level he did at the peak of his career or not is to be determined. But with Gerrard laughing off the comments, as fans stated, the rumours could be nothing but lies.
