A game between first and second in the Premier League under the lights on Boxing Day soon turned into a nightmare for Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City versus his former employers, Liverpool.
Trent Alexander-Arnold put the final nail in the coffin when his excellent strike beat Kasper Schmeichel in the Leicester City goal to crown an impressive victory for the reds.
The nature of the defeat has prompted some Foxes fans to claim the team have been ‘found out’ in the last couple of games.
Can the Foxes bounce back at the London stadium this weekend?
Yes
No
We’ve been completely found out. 11 goals conceded in 18 games and now 7 in 2? Disgraceful.

Embarrassing from Rodgers and the whole team. Worst I have ever seen a Leicester side play.

God, I hope the gaffer does some good work after this one, losing to City and Liverpool isn’t something to be embarassed about but this battering can do a number in the players heads. Need to keep it together to remain top 4.

Absolute shambles I’m afraid tonight. Worse than last Saturday.

Remember how awesome that Southampton match was?
Remember how well the squad played?
Remember that feeling? This is the exact opposite of it.
Meh…it’s one match. Still in the driver’s seat for Champions League

What do we think?
The third and fourth goals would have been particularly painful for Leicester City given that up until the penalty they were still in with a chance of pegging the visitors back. There will no doubt be those who are concerned by the nature of the defeat but rather than discourage the manager, this should encourage Brendan Rodgers to push forward and try to close the gap between the Foxes and Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been relentless for at least a year now and there are no signs of them letting up – therefore this isn’t necessarily a disastrous result. The former Celtic boss has done an excellent job at the King Power Stadium and, whilst this may serve as a reality check to those who’s expectations had run wild, its not a reason to lose faith in the squad or the club’s staff.
