Yesterday, before Rangers’ match against Young Boys, Steven Gerrard sat down for his press conference. He spoke on many topics, one of which was an injury update for the team’s Thursday night game. Gerrard confirmed the absence of Filip Helander, Steven Davis and Jordan Jones. He was convinced that George Edmundson would be available despite suffering from illness on the day of the conference.
“Helander won’t be available, he had a scan on his foot today. Davis won’t make tomorrow but won’t be too far away. Jones isn’t available for selection but played 60 minutes yesterday and is getting close. Edmundson missed training today with an illness but should make it,” said Gerrard (Rangers).
Fans will be hoping their players make a speedy recovery, however, the news of Helander’s absence does give the fans hope for Nikola Katic to make an appearance. They are eager for him to make a return to the lineup. They think their persistence of asking for him to play will be rewarded during the match.

Who is your preferred centre-back?
Filip Helander
Nikola Katic
Another fan predicts that he could score from a header. They would like someone to show Helander and Conor Goldson how it’s done.
Go on Niko show them other 2 donkeys how to score from a corner. #freekatic

What do we think?
If there was ever a time for Katic to take his chance, this is it. With Helander out and Edmundson recovering from illness, it is likely fans will see Katic partnered with Goldson at the back. If he impresses, it could be his spot to lose.
