It has been a disappointing week for Rangers fans. After seeing their team hiccup in the league by dropping points to Aberdeen, the Gers lost in the Scottish League Cup Final to their rivals. There were a few players who had okay games, but for the most part, fans were unimpressed overall.
One of the players to disappoint the fans was Ryan Kent. The English winger was relatively non-existent throughout the game, failing to threaten their rival’s backline on a consistent basis. Supporters shared their opinions on the player on Twitter. Some fans claim he is a waste of money, while others suggest his central positioning is throwing his game off.
I disagree with you. He can turn games around.
But he’s either outstanding or poor.
Today I thought he would have tried harder. But doesn’t help that he was playing through the middle more.

Ryan kent has to stop trying to play this number 6 role , so frustrating to watch

Another group of fans bring up his large price tag. For the amount they paid, they expect more from the midfielder.
I think Morelos’ shocker yesterday has distracted from how absolutely anonymous £7 million Ryan Kent was

Not saying he cost us the game but we paid 7.5 mil for Kent to turn in games like today and he never!!
Only player in our team without pass marks.

Ryan Kent is a horrendous player why we wasted money on him il never know

Do you think Ryan Kent was a worthwhile buy?
Yes
No
One fan suggests that the pitch didn’t suit him. But that doesn’t excuse the performance.
I can understand the criticism of Kent but honestly the pitch really didn’t suit him today, it was extremely boggy and not conducive to taking players on with pace.

What do we think?
At the end of the day, Kent, who is valued at £4.05m by TransferMarkt, has the ability to be a real game-changer for Rangers. But he needs to find his feet in these big games. Kent will be asking more from himself the next time the two clubs meet. So will Steven Gerrard, and so will the fans.
