Despite losing the game 1-0, Rangers were dominant in the Scottish League Cup Final. The team completely outplayed their opponents, recording 16 shots to their five. Seven of those shots were on target, while their rivals only managed to hit the target once (BBC). Luckily for them, however, it was the winning goal.
After the match, manager Steven Gerrard spoke to Rangers TV about the result. He was frustrated with the result but remained positive with the performance.
“On the evidence of today, our day will come,” said Gerrard (Rangers).
Fans loved the manager’s positivity and admitted that he has good reason to remain positive after that performance. Despite feeling cheated, they know the gap between Celtic and Ranger has been closed.
Love you mr G , team were cheated, played excellent football , not anti football

He is spot on. Continue to play like that and it’s only a matter of time

We dominated them and deserved the win, conceded a lucky (offside) goal. The gap is nonexistent now.

Even in defeat he just radiates class. You can see he is hurting, next time hopefully.
They know we are overtaking them on the park. The got the lucky call yesterday with the offside call, it wont happen every game tho.— 4 Lads Had A Dream (@WeKnowHeKnew) December 9, 2019
Gutted but first class effort from the team and beaten by dodgy offside and maybe denied at least one more pen- best team lost

Are you more or less confident about the league after the Scottish League Cup Final loss?
More confident
Less confident
Another fan suggests that if that was Celtic’s best effort then Rangers can almost certainly win the league.
If that’s there best we will win the league. Chin up gaffer.

I’m behind the manager and players, few quality signings in the winter break and WE CAN WIN THE LEAGUE. Lick our wounds and move on. Cmon the famous

What do we think?
It is easy for Gerrard to come out and praise his team’s performance. What will really showcase his team’s ability will be how they respond in December. Should they find victory in the league, it will be a huge boost to the Rangers’ title chances.
