Liverpool fans have been discussing a potential move for Gerard Deulofeu on Twitter.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page relaying quotes from Tony Cascarino saying on TalkSport he could see the Watford forward in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Here’s what he had to say:
“I could see him in the Liverpool team. We talk about players who Liverpool might look for further down the line.
“I know he’s been at Barcelona and Everton but he’s that type of player and would fit perfectly into their [Liverpool’s] system.
“He probably wouldn’t make the starting line-up but like [Xherdan] Shaqiri, he could come in and do a fabulous job because he really hurts you.”
This then led to some Liverpool fans replying with their thoughts on a potential move for the Spaniard.
Would you take Gerard Deulofeu at Liverpool?
Yes, sign him up
No, keep him
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans hoping to see Deulofeu at Anfield in the future:
Always was a decent player. Even at barca. Could be a good cheap option from the bench

The 25-year-old, who is currently valued at £22.5 million according to TransferMarkt, has made 19 appearances for Watford in all competitions so far this season. In those 19 appearances, Deulofeu has scored two goals and made two assists (per TransferMarkt). Despite not having a great record so far this season, some Liverpool fans think the signing of Deulofeu to Anfield would be a good one.
I’d take him

Andy is an example of what can happen. Nobody saw that coming.
If Klopp and Edwards brought him into the squad then they see something.— Richie Meade (@richiem42) December 15, 2019
He’s right. That hatrick he scored yesterday was unbelievable

What do we think?
If Liverpool do sign Deulofeu, it seems unlikely he would take the place of the Reds current front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino or Mohamed Salah. It would be more likely that the Spaniard would be used in a similar role to Xherdan Shaqiri as a squad rotation player. If the club feels like a move for the player is necessary, it would surely be an easy decision for Deulofeu to make the move to Merseyside.
