Some Celtic fans are criticising midfielder James Forrest for his recent performances after the club’s 2-0 win over Hibernian in the Premiership recently.
The Hoops kept their lead at the top of the Premiership with their win over Neil Lennon’s former side. The lead stayed at two points, as their fierce rivals also managed to pick up a 2-0 win over Motherwell despite Alfredo Morelos being sent off in the second half (BBC).
The Hoops saw James Forrest play once again on Sunday and has now played every single Premiership game for the club this season.
Celtic fans: Does Forrest need a rest?
Deserves one indeed
We need him now
But some Bhoys’ fans unhappy with his performances, while some others want him rested in the next few games.
Went missing last December and it’s happening again. When Elhamed returns, I’d love to see Frimpong given an opportunity wide right and give Forrest some competition.

He needs dropped too many games recently where he has been hiding or just passing ball straight back to person who passed to him only time he looks interested is when he’s in the box and he will try to score not enough from him

Terrible today. We have a number of options s for that position. Maybe he needs a rest.

Definitely….he was rotten again today.

Time for a rest. Hes played below his standard for the past 5 games. Other players have been rested. Hes due a spell out the team.

The 28-year-old Forrest has been one of the club’s most important players over the last few seasons. He has risen up the pecking order at the club to become an icon for club and even the country.
This season, he has played 31 times in all competitions for the club. He has played every single Premiership game, playing as many as 16 games in the league. He has played a total of five Europa League games too.
Last season, he had played 56 times in all competitions for the club. He had scored a total of 18 goals during this time, racking up a total of 20 assists as well. 11 goals came in the Premiership and 12 assists also came in it.
What do we think?
Forrest has played too many games for anyone to feature in. And being a midfielder who likes to work hard, he is bound to get tired. Even though he hasn’t been at his best in recent games, a rest would do him a lot of good. He has done enough to deserve that.
