Some Everton supporters have sided with Duncan Ferguson following the row over Moise Kean’s double substitution against Manchester United.
The club’s interim Scottish manager was called into question following the impressive draw for substituting the Italian on with around 20 minutes to go before hauling him back off again after 18 minutes (via BBC).
While Ferguson has been slated by some parties (as per Independent), a number of supporters stuck by the Scotsman’s decision and slated Moise Kean for the display he delivered over his 18 minutes on the pitch.
Alternative viewpoint – the minimum requirement is 100% effort and Kean wasnt giving it. That sub could make or break him

It’s not Moise Kean Fc

Behave yourself we’ve had years of egos and prima donnas and where has that got us?
Let’s all get behind Big Dunc, 2 cracking results and performances. Today we even had 1 touch passing with players positioning off the ball.
DCL led by example and that’s the standard now.

I disagree mate. I was told by ex player last week Moise Kean has got attitude issues. If he’s come on, not followed instructions, showing no effort or commitment then fair play to drag him back off. He doesn’t look fit. I doubt he’ll ever play for the club again.

Should Duncan Ferguson have substituted Moise Kean in the manner that he did?No, it was completely wrongYes, he wasn't playing well |
The 19-year-old former Juventus striker has been having a tough time of late at Goodison Park, having featured in 14 games for the Merseyside club but only completed 90 minutes once (via Transfermarkt).
While reports have circulated that Kean will leave the Toffees soon, although they were quashed (per The Guardian), supporters were growing tired of the Italian.
And if the manager doesn’t like what he sees even if he was a sub, drag him off! Sick of players getting away with bad attitudes or lack of effort!

Watch the goal back. He didn’t challenge MaGuire. Jogs back in position then turns his back for cross field ball which lead to goal
If I’m screaming here at that i don’t think Duncan will be happy at his work rate

So much talk about confidence (not you specifically!) but if he can’t follow instructions, handle the pressure, or deal with being subbed off regardless of the circumstances then he doesn’t have much of a future with the club anyways. Its not the end of his time here anyways

Sometimes the only way to learn is the hard way, tough task master is Duncan by the looks of it, no problems with a bit of old school man management, let’s see if Kean has the courage to learn and respond or to take the easy way out and sulk and agitate for a move back home

If Kean has anything about it he’ll understand why it happened, learn from the experience and emerge stronger for it. He humiliates himself by walking down the tunnel. Get on the bench with your teammates and accept your manager’s decision young man.

What do we think?
It is a tough one. While it is absolutely doubtless that Kean was not up to the speed of the game after being introduced and did not look to even be attempting to get into the game Ferguson should not have done it.
Or at least not in the way that he did, however frustrated he was with the frontman he should have explained why he was coming off when he did, rather than letting him walk straight down the tunnel without a word.
