Some Celtic fans are hailing former striker Moussa Dembele after his tweet following the club’s 1-0 win in the Scottish League Cup final last night.

In what was a thrilling encounter in the League Cup final, a Christopher Jullien goal in the second-half was enough to hand the Hoops their 20th title of the competition (BBC).

But there was no shortage of memorable events. Jeremie Frimpong was sent off, but Fraser Forster came up with a big save to deny Alfredo Morelos. This was minutes after Jullien scored a header from a free-kick.

Celtic fans: Do you miss Moussa Dembele?

We have Edouard!

We have Edouard!

We miss his goals!

We miss his goals!

Some Hoops fans have gone ecstatic after seeing Dembele’s latest tweet about the win for the Bhoys.

Dembele joined Celtic in the summer of 2016 for then Championship outfit Fulham after his contract at Craven Cottage had expired. But Celtic did pay a developmental fee to the London club for the Frenchman.

In his first season, Dembele had played 49 times in all competitions for the Parkhead-based side. He racked up a tally of 32 goals and also had as many as nine assists. In total, he played 91 times in all competitions for the club. He scored 51 times, racking up 18 assists on the way.

He left the club in the summer of 2018. He joined French giants Lyon for a fee of £19.7million and has been in impressive form for them since then. In total, Dembele has now played 66 times in all competition for Lyon, scoring 30 times and assisting six times.

After Dembele left the club, Celtic signed another Frenchman in Odsonne Edouard from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017 for a fee of £9million.

What do we think?

The tweet from the striker shows that Dembele still loves Celtic. However, that doesn’t mean the Hoops miss him, considering how good Edouard has been since joining. The former PSG man has played 107 times in all competitions since last season, scoring 46 times and racking up a tally of 24 assists as well. Those are very impressive numbers and it shows that Celtic don’t miss Dembele anymore.
