Some Celtic fans are fuming at the club’s transfer policy and want them to come up with better recruitment in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Hoops have already been linked with multiple winter transfer signings, as Neil Lennon’s men look to bolster the side for a crucial second-half of the campaign.

The latest one to be linked to the Hoops is Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell. The club has also drawn links with Carlisle United defender Jarred Branthwaite. Not just that, but they are also looking at the possibility of signing Slovan Bratislava striker Andraz Sporar.

Celtic fans: Are you happy with the transfer policy?

There will always be failures!

Despite that, some Celtic fans aren’t happy with some of the signings their club has made. They’re also not happy with how those signings have been treated this season.

This past summer, Celtic made a total of 11 signings. They shelled out as much as £11.83million on these signings, whilst earning a total of £24.3million from player sales.

Their most expensive signing of the summer was defender Christopher Jullien from Toulouse. As per Transfermarkt, the Frenchman arrived for a fee of £7million. Left-back Boli Bolingoli also arrived in the summer for a fee of around £3million.

The club also let go of as many as seven players on permanent deals. This includes Marvin Compper and Cristian Gamboa. Defender Dedryck Boyata also left for Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin on a free transfer. Michael Lustig, who was a fans’ favourite at Parkhead, also departed to join Genk.

What do we think?

It is fair to say that some transfers haven’t worked out for the Hoops over the years. That includes Eboue Kouassi and Marian Shved. But every club has a fair share of transfers that don’t go as planned and that is a very natural aspect of the game today.

But Celtic have also got many transfers right. That includes Odsonne Edouard, Jullien and many more. They deserve credit for that.
