Some Celtic fans have expressed shock at the fact that outcast Scott Sinclair might make an appearance for the club in their Europa League game against Cluj on Thursday.

The Hoops have already made it to the next round of the Europa League and are set to finish at the top of the group, even if they lose to Cluj on Thursday. This is the first time in history that they will go through to the knockout stages as the winners of the group.

They have already beaten Lazio twice and a positive result against Cluj could see the Biancocelesti get knocked out out of the competition. Indeed, ahead of the game against Cluj, Neil Lennon has confirmed that Scott Sinclair will feature.

Celtic fans: Does Sinclair deserve to stay at Celtic?

He's done so much!

He's done so much!

Let him go!

Let him go!

This has sent the club’s fanbase into a frenzy and most had forgotten that Sinclair did play for their club.

Sinclair has turned into an outcast under Neil Lennon, as compared to how he was a key player over the last two-three seasons under Brendan Rodgers.

This season, the Englishman has scored six times in all competitions for the club. He has played only 17 minutes of football in the Premiership, but he has scored once in the Champions League qualifying and has one goal in the League Cup as well.

Last season, Sinclair had played as many as 55 times in all competitions for the Hoops. He had a tally of 17 goals and a total of five assists as well.

Since joining the club from Aston Villa in the summer of 2016 on a four-year deal, Sinclair has played 166 times in all competitions for the club and has scored 62 times, racking up a tally of 34 assists as well.

What do we think?

Sinclair deserves more game time. His contributions to the club till last season show that there is still a useful player in there that Celtic can make very good use of. But it is a surprise that he hasn’t been used much and a dead rubber game is all he’ll get to play.

With his contract running out at the end of the season, Sinclair has to know how Celtic plan to use him. Or he has to move out as soon as possible.
