Some Celtic fans are making it clear that they are not too keen to see their club sign Slovan Bratislava striker Andraz Sporar in the upcoming January transfer window.
The striker has been linked with a move to Parkhead in the last few weeks. And the fresh reports claim that talks between the two clubs are now ongoing to bring Sporar to Parkhead soon.
Reports say that Hoops representatives flew to Vienna recently to hold talks with Slovan for Sporar. Slovan chief Ivan Kmotrík Jr has also confirmed that the club is in talks for the striker and they are pushing for his winter signature.
Celtic fans: Would Sporar be the right man?
He isn't the man for us
Sign him, he's brilliant
But some Celtic fans have made it clear that they aren’t too keen for their club to sign the former Basel man, with one suggesting that it could be another Marian Shved situation – with the Ukrainian having played just twice under Neil Lennon this season (as per TransferMarkt).
Nope.

My concern would be that while the clip shows tap ins and penalties there’s no headed goals in packed defences.
We need someone who is aggressive and can compete with the “hammer throwers” on the ground and in the air. Fingers crossed the scouting Dept have learnt lessons— Dermot Houston (@DeRebCelts) December 24, 2019
We’re not paying £7m for Sporar

Andraz Sporar is not a good investment for Celtic imo. Seems he couldn’t cut it at Basel, and we’ve already signed Bayo from the same league who was younger, cheaper, played for a lower placed team and scored a similar goal tally. How is that working out so far? #CelticFC

As things stand, Odsonne Edouard is Celtic’s first-choice striker in the club’s 4-2-3-1 formation under Neil Lennon. The Frenchman has scored 15 times in all competitions this season, racking up as many as 13 assists as well.
As for Sporar, he has been in very impressive form for the club this season. He has found the back of the net 20 times in all competitions for Slovan this season, racking up five assists while playing 26 games.
Last season, Sporar was just as impressive for the club. He played 36 times in all competitions for Slovan. He racked up a tally of 34 goals and as many as nine assists. In the Europa League qualifying stages last season, Sporar played six games and scored five times and had two assists.
What do we think?
Sporar has a very impressive goalscoring form and that will attract any club towards him. And he deserves credit for that too. But since Celtic need a second-choice striker, it is tough to see how Sporar would fit in. He would want regular football- something he might not get ahead of Edouard.
